School Daze

SCHOOL!!

Yes, I know we are already two months in but we're a little behind over here! ;)  Akira started the third grade this year and Emmy started her first daycare/preschool adventure!  This is going way too fast!  She is becoming such a busy little girl...one that goes to school, eats snack and even has her own group of friends! ;)

Meet the teacher night
Emery isn't impressed at this point...

but then she saw toys!

How cute is this?  It lights up the room for nap time.

Akira is ready for another year of fun!

First Day!
Lamb is the cuddly she picked to go to school and nap with.

Showing off her new 'pack pack.'

I think she was thinking, "Mom am I really doing this?!"

But as soon as she got to school her face lit up (while my eyes teared up)!

Walking to her classroom.

Her first snack...cheerios of course!

And this is how we left her...she was exploring all the new toys as I was making sure I had the school's number in my phone so I could call and check on her.  (BTW- I only called twice, the first time she was napping, the second I got to hear playing)!

Akira and her good friend Kenna

The end of Day 1
One pooped out baby!

At least I thought she was tired.  Instead she raced to her toys as if she hadn't seen them in a week and dove right in, literally!

Nothing like relaxing after your first day of school!

From Head to Pretty Toes

One night last week after bath we decided to take clean and pretty to a whole new level.  I wasn't sure if she was ready but the second I began to paint her toes pink she was as still as can be and all she could say was 'pit-ty!'

I'm so in love with these cute little toes!

Such a big girl!!

If this is any indication of what's to come...this is the beginning of so much fun with our little girly girl!

Congrats Forrest!

A couple of weekends ago we celebrated Forrest's graduation from his PhD program.
The BBF's (Baby Best Friends) took over the party and had a blast as always!

There was dancing... (the speaker was in the bushes and Keegan couldn't get enough of the music!)

Yummy Pizza...

And a water slide!!
Although there was no water the BBF's found a way to make it work.

Saying our goodbyes

And of course our goodbye wasn't complete without a kiss! :)

*I'm sure you've noticed by now...we didn't get one photo of Forrest. :(  Even though he isn't in the pictures were extremely happy for him and his accomplishment!!

Good Ol' Family Time

The girls and I decided to head out to the Bass Pro Shop for some fun activities.
After a looong week at work, they deserved all the mommy and me time they could get!

They started out looking at the HUGE fish tank in the middle of the store.  Emery couldn't stop saying, "Oooouuuuh"  She was quite impressed!

These two were inseparable the entire time....

Don't let this sweet face deceive you..she's all about trouble these days!

Emery wasn't thrilled about the hats but it was fitting for our adventure!

Like I said, inseparable!

And...The EASTER BUNNY!

Emery loved the Easter Bunny; she walked right up to him and couldn't wait to sit in his lap! (I got it on our flip camera so look for it in another post soon!)  Akira posed beautifully as always too!

After the Bass Pro Shop we took a walk around the strip mall...mind you it was 96 degrees in Phoenix today!!
Lucky us we found a water pad and no one else was there!

Emery was quite surprised at how close she could get to the spouting fountains.

At this moment I think we decided the clothes must come off the baby!

Ta da!  Diaper+fountain= very wet baby!
(and no I did not have a towel, but we did have our sunscreen!)

Emery was elated!  I think she thought it was one big shower!
I can't wait for this summer and pool time!

After drying off (with our blankie :)), here is one tired baby!

Our final picture in front the of the Bass Pro Shop.

We had such a great time!  Bet you couldn't guess they were both asleep before we even left the parking lot!  Mommy and me time successful!!
