It's here!

Emery's first tooth!

It actually came in about three weeks ago, bad mama I didn't even know it until Grandma was playing with Emery in California! She has been mouthing EVERYTHING and gets quite fiesty. Well sure enough Grandma's Brighton bracelet must have done the trick, because Grandma says "Did anyone notice she has a tooth?!"

I tried to get a picture of it but she just wants to bite my finger and then laughs. Silly girl!

Father's Day

Nathan is such a special Daddy and this weekend his girls made sure he knew it!

Akira made sure he had all of his favorite things, "Popcorn and batteries Daddy, that's what you like!"

We spent the day outside at the pool and barbecued too!

Emery also helped Daddy put together his new keyboard stand.

FoUr MoNtHs OlD

It's hard to believe that 4 months has already come and gone. Our sweet baby girl continues to grow and fill our lives with so many joyous moments. Her daily discoveries help me realize how innocent we are and that life is such a wonder. Now to give the full update...

• Chubby cheeks are in full effect! She loves to eat and just like her mom she's a grazer!
• She smiles when she hears the sounds of our voices.

• She mimics faces (silly Daddy can do it too!)
• A slight chuckle is all she can do but she's definitely laughing inside!

• Sad faces happen too but only when she wants her food. :)
• She sleeps through the night, yes it's true!

• If you're lucky she'll stick her tongue out at you.
• She's discovered her lips and likes to suck on them.
• Her feet are next if she could just figure out they will reach her mouth.

• She's grabbing for toys...and Mommy's necklaces too!
• She'll "coo" and "cah" and sometimes just screams for fun.

• She's great at holding her head up now..especially during tummy time (it's not so bad anymore!)
• When she's down on the floor her legs are movin' and groovin', she'll start facing one wall and end up facing another.
• She's mastered the side to side rock...now if we could only turn that into a roll!
• And lastly she's a water baby!! She's been in the pool more times then I can count now and she continue to love it more and more!

Well that's it for now! Can you believe she's four months old?!

June Blessings

No such thing as June gloom here! It's officially feeling like summer outside and you know what that means- SUN, vacations, popsicles AND this year we are blessed to see our sweet baby. I must say my new fave for the summer is a chubby baby in diapers keeping cool! Here's a few pictures of our little sunshine.

What a beautiful weekend for the pool... so beautiful we were there two days in a row!

Emery had her first encounter with the HUGE bathtub, at least that's what I believe she thought it was. She was mesmerized and a little unhappy at the same time!

First we tested the water to make sure it was just like the bath. Not so much... it was COLD, even though we've reached almost 100 here.

Bathing suits!! That should make it better, right?

We headed home, put on our suits and packed up the stroller (side note: I must say having a stroller is quite awesome, it holds everything my arms can't and more...the only issue I've run into is that I often lose sight of what or should I say who it's for...EMERY!)

Things went much better the second time around. Emery loved watching the water and of course hanging out in her new float. I must say she loved laying out too, just like her mommy! :)

Our first trip/weekend at the pool was a success! This summer the pool will see a lot more of this water baby!

Weekend Rewind

A new recipe...MANGO SALSA

This one was a real winner! I have never been a huge fan of mangos but mix it with peppers and onions and pass the tortilla chips please! It was delicious!

Here's the recipe so try it yourself...it's so easy. Beware of the Jalapeno though, it HOT!

Ingredients

• 2 cups chopped mangoes (about 2 medium mangoes)
• 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
• 2/3 cup chopped green onion
• 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
• 4 teaspoons olive oil
• 1 medium fresh jalapeno, minced

Directions

1. 1

   Mix first six ingredients together in large bowl.

   Add jalapeno to taste (I usually use about 3/4 of a medium-sized jalapeno, which gives it quite a quick!).

   Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to an hour to allow flavors to mellow.

   Immediately before serving, give salsa a quick stir. May be stored in a sealed container for several days.

And finally A NEW CAR!!

It was time to say goodbye to my lovely Jetta. After beach trips in San Diego, sunny skies in Gilbert, Snowboarding in Flagstaff, and numerous trips between Arizona and California

(121, 000 miles exactly!!)I had to give it up.

Here is my first family car, the Honda CRV. It's spacious, drives beautifully, lifts me up (literally! I can see so much better!) and even has a sun roof.

I can't wait for all the family adventures and trips that we will enjoy in our new ride!
